The FetchTV app will hit iPhone 3G, 4 and 4S, as well as iPad and iPod Touch today but is not available on Android until early 2012.
The FetchTV apps pair with the set top box and allow users to remotely browse program listings, set and manage recordings, browse movies, watch trailers, make purchases and initiate downloads.
So, if youre in the car and remember you forgot to record ‘Two and A Half Men’ then one click of an iPhone and it’s done.
The free app allows users to preview movies and browse the on-demand movies available on fetchtv prior to rental and you can also share movies or programs with your mates on Facebook or Twitter, or by email or text.
The clever tool also serves as an in-house remote and keyboard, well beyond the capability of the majority of TV apps in the market.
Whilst the TV continues to be the dominant viewing screen for entertainment, smartphones and tablets are ideal companions to FetchTV, says Scott Lorson, CEO.
“Anyone can download the fetchtv remote app – it’s a great way for potential customers to see what content they can get through the fetchtv service,” he added.
