Portable navigation device company Mio is offering consumers a chance to win one of its devices by making a short film on why they need a GPS device.
The company is running the competition, called “Why I Need a Mio,” to find out exactly what people are looking for when they go to buy a Mio navigation product.
The competition is peer-based and the three entrants whose films have the greatest number of views at the end of the competition, which runs from today, 19 September, to 9 December 2007, will each win one of the three new Mio DigiWalker C520s, valued at $499 each.
Entrants are encouraged to be as creative as they can to build their film’s popularity.
The competition is a partnership between Mio Technology and new consumer electronics site, Ritchie’s Room,
To enter, consumers need to log on to the Ritchie’s Room website, www.ritchiesroom.com, and upload their short film (no more than three minutes in duration). Viewers will be able to rate and comment on the films.
“The Mio DigiWalker brand is all about discovery and this is a great vehicle for entrants to get their creative work seen on a public platform,” said Mio Technology’s Daniel Antonello.
