EXCLUSIVE: Telstra and Samsung Australia have teamed up to launch a brand new NRL application that let’s TV viewers analyse NRL games including the upcoming final series.
The application which goes live this week can be accessed on Samsung TV’s that an IPTV capability. This includes their new 3D TV models and their new 9 Series LED TV.
According to Ben Kinealy the of IPTV at Telstra the new application allows TV viewers to access five years of NRL games.
“This is a superb application as it allows users to totally analyse all aspects of a game, from the Try’s to slow motion analysis of game player to close up evaluation of a player to the bloopers” Said Kinealy.
Telstra who has the IPTV rights to NRL games will provide the application exclusive to Samsung for the 2010 season.
Jon Manning Public Relations Manager at Samsung said “we hope to have the application live this week”.
Last week Telstra also made available to both Samsung and LG and via their own T Box a new catalogue of HDTV movies.
Kinealy, said: “We are adding more and more HD titles to our catalogue and down the track customers will be able to select at purchase whether they want to watch a movie in DVD-like quality or in high definition”.
A HDTV movie rental costs $6.99 for 48 hours viewing and will be ready to begin viewing for seven days. That compares with the $3.99 for standard-definition movies.
