Customers at Starbucks may soon be able to download songs onto their iPods while they wait for their coffees.
Speaking at the Midem music industry conference in Cannes Ken Lombard, president of Starbucks Entertainment said: “A lot of our customers are asking for device fill-up, and going forward we’ll do that.”
No date has been set on the service, and also no word on whether digital downloads will be available from Australian stores.
Starbucks has trialled Hear Music Media Bars in several stores in the US, where customers could burn their own CDs, but these were unsuccessful as customers wanted digital mp3 downloads instead.
