Rumours on what Apple has in store for its smartphone line up in 2018 have already begun with KGI security analyst and known Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo saying the tech company will be shipping 100 million units of its 6.1 inch LCD unit, one of three devices to be unveiled this year.
Apple Insider reports Kuo expects the handset to be priced between US$699 and US$799 depending on how many units Apple sends. He also believes the 6.1 inch phone will be about 50 per cent of new models to ship in the second half of the year.
Late last year, Kuo predicted three new iPhones will be unveiled this year with no update for the low-cost iPhone SE. The three models will include the 6.1 inch LCD device with a 5.8 inch OLED device and 6.5 inch OLED device.
To put the sizes of those devices in perspective, the iPhone X display is 5.8 inches, the iPhone 8 is 4.7 inches and the iPhone 8 Plus is 5.5 inches. These three devices could be an upgrade to the iPhone X with rumours Apple is going to kill off the device due to poor sales and lack of technology innovation.
Kuo correctly predicted the iPhone X last year so he is probably on the money.
Apple is currently fixing a bug where if someone sent or typed a single character in the Indian language, Telugu the device would crash. The bug is affecting iOS 11, the macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4 and tvOS 11.
