Bose’s stylish AR sunglasses, Frames, are set to land in Australian on June 13 and are available to pre-order now for $299.95 with a free pair of Bose non-polarised lenses.
First seen back in March 2018, Bose Frames use sound instead of sight to communicate information to the wearer.
Unlike other AR headsets or eyewear, Frames send audio-information via a 9-axis head motion sensor and GPS (from your mobile device) instead of overlaying digital images in the wearer’s eye-line.
They include an ultra-small microphone and multi-function button on the sunglasses right time for power and pairing — compatible with Siri or Google Assistant — to allows users to make calls and give voice commands or to pause or skip songs.
There are two styles available — square (Alto) or round (Rondo) — in matte black with tinted UVA/UVB blocking lenses with gold plated steel hinges and charging pins.
It includes a battery which boasts 3.5 hours of playback and 12 hours of standby.
Surprisingly, considering the tech and battery involved, the glasses weigh only 45g.
