British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins has expanded its decade-long partnership with McLaren by becoming the official audio partner for both McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team.
Since 2015, Bowers & Wilkins has helped develop McLaren’s high-performance supercar audio systems. Now the partnership extends to McLaren’s 2024 Constructors’ Championship-winning Formula 1 team.
Bowers & Wilkins’ engineers work closely with McLaren’s automotive division to optimise the audio experience in its supercars. Most recently the McLaren W1 supercar was announced, featuring an advanced Bowers & Wilkins sound system integrated into its InnoKnit fabric and carbon fibre architecture.
As the partnership extends into McLaren Racing, the brands are set to deliver more exclusive co-branded products for McLaren’s global fanbase. Bowers & Wilkins has previously collaborated with McLaren on audio products such as the Px8 McLaren Edition headphones and Zeppelin McLaren Edition speaker (pictured below).
Additionally, Bowers & Wilkins products will become a key part of the McLaren F1 team’s travel, relaxation and pre-race preparation during the 2025 season.
“Exceptional audio performance is key to further enriching the engagement of a McLaren,” said Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Automotive. “Specialist engineers from McLaren Automotive and Bowers & Wilkins have worked in partnership since 2015 to develop and deliver the sound technologies that ensure the levels of audio system excellence our customers demand.”
