Millenial media giant Buzzfeed are making an unexpected expansion into the appliance space with the Tasty One Top.
A cooktop that connects with your smartphone, they say “the One Top was engineered to be the most versatile appliance in your kitchen. Say goodbye to guessing and hello to perfect meals.”
Priced at US$149, the cooktop is designed to tie in with Buzzfeed’s popular series of Tasty cooking videos.
“In two years, Tasty has reimagined the recipe format as a visual, shareable and interactive medium, democratizing food and making cooking more accessible, social and fun in the process,” said Ashley McCollum, General Manager of Tasty.
“The Tasty One Top and app demonstrates our commitment to the intersection of content and technology, marking the beginning of the next step in the evolution of our business as we expand into new ways of using technology to bring people together around food.”
More information can be found about the Tasty One Top over on the product’s website.
The Tasty One Top is currently only shipping to US customers. Of course, you could always get around this by using Australia Post’s ShopMate or similar post-forwarding services.
It’s unknown if the appliance will see a proper Australian launch. Regardless, Buzzfeed say it’ll start shipping out from November.
