HP has taken on Microsoft and Lenovo with several new premium laptops aimed at the travelling business professional – including the HP EliteBook x360 1040 G6 with up to 24 hours of battery life
The new HP Elite x2 G4 also claims to be the world’s first “business detachable” with a leather keyboard folio, reminiscent of the Spectre Folio released last year, boasting added privacy with an integrated dual camera shutter.
The laptop mirrors the fabric embedded folio style of Microsoft’s popular Surface Laptop and Surface Go range.
The company has also added its HP Sure Sense to the new EliteBook line, which provides deep learning malware protection to the new PCs.
Designed for professionals on the move the new EliteBook x360 models offer next-gen connectivity with Gigabit Class 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.
The 14-inch 4K HDR screen HP EliteBook x360 1040 G6 claims the world’s longest battery life in a business convertible under 1.5 kilograms with up to 24 hours of battery life and 32GB memory.
Alongside its updated series of laptops, HP has also unveiled new “docking monitors” with universal USB-C or legacy USB-A connectivity.
The HP EliteDisplay E223d and EliteDisplay E273d docking monitors deliver video, data, and power over a single USB-C cable.
Joining the new docking displays is a new “Mini-in-One” 24-inch 1080p resolution panel with integrated speakers.
HP is also adding a “natural handwriting” option for the HP Elite x2 and all HP Elite convertibles with its Rechargeable Active Pen G3.
The HP Elite x2 G4, EliteBook x360 1030 G4, and EliteBook x360 1040 G6 are expected to be available in August. Pricing will be shared closer to availability.
