Certain AWA-branded flatscreen TVs sold in Big W are being recalled due to faults which could allow unintentional access to internal wiring. The 51cm TVs with model number W51SL Mark II were sold nationwide between September and December this year.
“Some of the sets have an opening in the base, on the underside of the case, which is large enough to allow access to the internal wiring of the set,” said a government notice about the recall.
Consumers are urged to switch off and unplug the power point before being moved, and return the set to their nearest Big W store for a full refund.
