In its latest teaser for its Games Developer Conference (GDC) event next week, Google promises to bring “The Future of Gaming” hinting that its much-hyped game streaming service may be coming sooner than we think.
Google has posted another teaser for its GDC event, following a tantalising gif that was shared last month, centre stage on Google’s main Twitter account.

This video shows a range of hallways, caves, and openings in various racing-themed, futuristic, sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure settings; each with a light at the end of the tunnel.
Each setting calls various gaming scenarios to mind, indicating that this “future of gaming” vision plans to incorporate all kinds of games.
As it is a teaser, it doesn’t tell us much about what the event will entail, however it is likely Google will share the results of its Project Stream beta test.
It is rumoured that Google will be formally announcing a new game streaming service at the event, that may include hardware.
A patent for a Google controller surfaced recently and the company’s SVP of Hardware Rick Osterloh also tweeted about the teaser, keeping the rumour mill churning that hardware in on the horizon.
Google’s store page also has a placeholder for the new gaming initiative featuring a shot from the teaser video with “Discover a new way to play”, further indicating that a physical device may be announced.
It is present on both the international and Australian Google store home page, hinting it could arrive Down Under as well.
If the rumour mill is correct, Google could be making its biggest push into the gaming world yet, and gamers worldwide will no doubt be tuning into the live stream to discover what is happening.
Google’s GDC event is scheduled to take place on March 19, so we don’t have long to wait to find out.
