PC behemoth, Lenovo, has become the latest company to establish its connected home ecosystem, launching its ‘Smart Essential’ range in Berlin, featuring a smart plug, smart camera and smart light bulb – all compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice controls.
Lenovo’s Smart Essentials range claims to be a “one-stop shop” for today’s intelligent home, controlled by its ‘Link’ app, which manageas all devices, rather than one app per product.
Via the app, users can control specific groups of devices at once, or automate actions at certain points throughout a day.
Applications include automatically turning on lights after dusk, or controlling a surveillance camera via voice commands.
Similar to Kogan’s newly launched SmarterThings range, Lenovo’s new Smart Plug claims to convert any outlet powered product into a ‘smart device’ with app control.
Lenovo’s Smart Essentials range will launch in the United States in November, before expanding to Australia sometime later.
