A new game by recently revamped Sega called “Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games” is set to be launched exclusively for the Nintendo Wii and DS next month.
Taking advantage of the lead up to the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, the game is essentially an athletic competition, wherein up to four players can battle it out for the gold medal in running, gymnastics and other events.
Players have their pick of characters from both the worlds of Mario and Sonic – such as Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi, Tails and, of course, Mario and Sonic. There is a choice of competing as one of these characters or against one of the characters.
Sega says it has made innovative usage of the Wii and DS platforms to allow players to control their characters.
The Australian launch date for the game has been set at November 23rd. Pricing details are yet to be released.
