As originally reported by ChannelNews, Melbourne-based distributor Aqipa Australia has confirmed that it’ll be ranging Master & Dynamics new “best-in-class” MW60 headphones
Featuring custom-built 45mm neodymium drivers and a hefty 15 hours of battery life, the MW60 look like a pretty slick option if you’re in the market for wireless on-ear headphones.
On a technical level, it’s more or less the same version of the acclaimed on-ear headphones the brand put out in 2015 under a fresh new coat of paint.
Still, if it ain’t broke – don’t try to fix it. The company claims that “while traditional wireless headphones trade metal for plastic, the Master & Dynamic MW60 combines patent pending stainless steel componentry with its “form-meets-function” exposed all-aluminum antenna to create uncompromised durability, style and best-in-class signal range.”
Master & Dynamic are also talking a big game about the materials used to build the MW60. They say “the MW60 is appointed with the highest quality materials, from the heavy grain leather headband to the memory foam ear pads, which are wrapped in soft lambskin leather.”
“An omnidirectional microphone is integrated into the ear cup for crystal clear calling. Tactile controls ― ergonomically positioned on the ear cups ― pay homage to elements found on high-end timepieces, allowing for effortless media control toggling.”
The luxury-grade headphones will be available in the brand’s signature silver/brown and gunmetal/black color variants.
Aqipa Australia indicated to ChannelNews that the headphones will roll out to Australian retail during the August-September period.
The distributor, formed by former Convoy executives Sohan Karunaratne and Cameron Greig, snared the right to several major brands including B&O Play, Speck, Marshall a former Ambertech brand, Urbanears, Audio Pro and Masters & Dynamics.
Local pricing is still to be confirmed. However, in the United States, the MW60 headphones retail for $549.
