Panasonic has also unveiled a digital interchangeable lens for Lumix G Series – the LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15mm / F1.7 ASPH (35 mm camera equivalent: 30 mm), complying with the Micro Four Thirds standard.
Pana say the new LEICA lens has better optical performance and is fast and lightweight. It will be available this June in black and silver, priced at RRP $799.
The lens has an aperture ring and AF/MF switch for direct operation, high-quality metal design and mount. It is also compatible with the sensor drive at max.240 fps to maximise Lumix G cameras with high-speed AF such as DMC-GM1.
The new lens system uses 3 aspherical lenses, which suppress spherical aberration and distortion.
The LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15mm / F1.7 ASPH will be available as a new single lens kit with the LUMIX DMC-GM1 (DMC-GM1LGN-S) in June. Pricing is TBA.
