The IXUS 1000 HS is 22.3mm wide and has a 10x Optical Zoom. It can capture Full HD movies and has an Intelligent Auto in movie mode that automatically detects 1 of 28 scenes and optimise settings.
It also features a Super Slow Motion movie function that allows users to record video at a very high frame rate. In addition, video content is easily downloaded from the camera via USB connection and can be easily played back on your HDTV via HDMI.
The IXUS 1000 HS also features Canon’s new high-sensitivity system known as the HS SYSTEM. The system claims to enhance image quality in low-light situations and helps reduce noise at high ISO speeds. It also reduces camera shake and subject blur, resulting in high quality shots every time.
Other features include Canon’s TruCapture technology and two new scene modes – Handheld Night Scene and Best Image Selection.
Canon Australia’s Brand Manager – Digital Still Cameras, Danielle Hinton said, “The IXUS 1000 HS provides a unique market offering with its huge 10x Optical Zoom and extremely compact size which slips easily into your pocket, making this a camera you’ll want to take everywhere.”
The IXUS 1000 HS will be available next month, with pricing to be announced at a later date.
