Telstra has announced that it will offer its wireless broadband on prepaid, giving users Next G broadband coverage without being tied down to a contract.
The Next G Prepaid Wireless Broadband Pack will be available from any Telstra shop starting September 22 for just $149 dollars. It will include a $10 start-up credit, with users being able to recharge from their desktop using the connection manager with their credit card or by recharge card or electronic vouchers. Prepaid rates range from $20 to $100, with the $100 credit providing a 6GB allowance.
Telstra’s Executive Director for Consumer Marketing, Ms. Glenice Maclellan said, “Pre-Paid Wireless Broadband simply plugs into your laptop giving you access to the Next G network without having to connect any cables so you can surf the web at uni, use it on the train and take it with you really simply if you move house. Telstra’s Pre-Paid Wireless Broadband has no contracts or minimum monthly commitments. It provides the ultimate flexibility, is simple to use and can be recharged at more than 5000 locations across Australia.”
Telstra Product Management, Executive Director, Mr. Craig Turner said that the Telstra Pre-Paid Wireless Broadband pack includes a USB Modem, a Telstra Next G SIM card with $10 included credit and a high-speed connection to the Next G network.
“Customers will connect directly to the Next G network and enjoy typical speeds of 550kbps to1.5Mbps bursting up to 3Mbps in selected areas. And because the Next G network is Australia’s largest mobile network, Telstra customers can get connected in more places than on any other 3G network,” Mr. Turner said.
