Toshiba has launched what’s claimed to set a new standard in family-friendly computing to meet the growing demand for family-oriented notebooks.Its latest Satellite L630 Notebook combines multimedia capabilities with quality and durability and has hit the shelves already, aiming to provide a fun experience for both parents and children.

The Notebook includes a rubberised keyboard that can be cleaned easily after messy fingers have left their mark, and is coloured grey with lime-green highlights and rubber edges making it durable and scuff-proof.
It also has a hard drive 3D shock sensor that detects accidental drops or knocks to help protect family pictures, videos, music and other special memories, a Windows 7 Home Premium with parental controls that lets you set limits on the hours that children can use the notebook, the types of games they can play, and the content they can access online and a built-in webcam making it easy to chat via video with friends and grandparents.
At 2.1kg it is also light enough to move around at home or to take away on family holidays.

The Satellite L630 also comes with a 13.3″ high definition widescreen with LED backlighting for high contrast and vivid colours that is perfect for movies and games. It has a built-in DVD SuperMulti Drive which allows you to play your favourite family movies.
It also reads and writes most popular disc formats for backing-up your family photos and Toshiba’s leading-edge Media Controller software that allows users to share videos, music and pictures from the notebook’s media library with any compatible home entertainment network.
The Satellite L630 is available now from selected retail and partner channels with an RRP of $799.
