Whistleblowing website Wikileaks has been crippled by an ongoing attack that has lasted for almost a week.
The site has been crippled by a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, enduring an onslaught of traffic at a rate of 10 gigabits per second, and raising questions on who could be behind it.
Releasing information damaging to businesses and governments has left Wikileaks with few friends, and an attack of this magnitude indicates they’ve really pissed someone off.
Gizmodo tentatively point out US documentation pertaining to a secret surveillance project was recently leaked by Wikileaks and questions whether the potent attack could be a coincidence or part of a conspiracy.
In a statement, WikiLeaks conceded the attack is a ‘bit larger’ than those they’re used to.
