Callers to Telstra’s service centre which is now located in India were told that the service could be down for up to 8 hours.
A service centre spokesperson in India said “We are witnessing a major interruption of services for broadband and Foxtel services over a cable network. Services are expected to be restored by 5.00pm today. If the service is not restored please call us again and we will inform you of the new time for restoration of our services”.
A Telstra spokesperson has confirmed that its network has been affected by a power outage caused by Energy Australia in the Mosman area. Up to 500 foxtel services and 200 Telstra Internet connections would be down until at least 6:00pm tonight.
