Sunbeam has come out poorly, in an ironing shootout up against brands from Kambrook, Philips, Aldi and Tefal.
In a program aired last night on the Nine Network, A Current Affair, producers had several hard core ironers voice their opinions on which iron’s they thought were the best.
After being given several irons from some of the biggest brands in the small appliance market the judges, who were deemed to be semi professional ironers, made their choice.
All three reviewers described the Sunbeam Iron as having the “wobbles” due to poor design, while other brands like the Aldi Lumina brand were critisised because of “water dribbles”.
The best performing brands were:
Cheap Range – Kambrook 2000W Steamline Iron $29.95
Mid Range – Philips 2800 Series Standard Plus Iron – GC2860 – $69.95
Expensive – Tefal FV9440 – $159.95, and Philips Azur Premium Iron GC4856 – $119.95
