The Navig8r iSeries i50 GPS comes with a new feature called Driver Profiles which claims to “monitor speed relevant to the signposted limit, maintain a driving log, display real time data on driving hours accumulated and percentage of driving time speeding.”
Laser said that Learner drivers can also produce a driving log report for presentation to the RTA (or equivalent in states outside NSW).
“The Driver Profiles feature on the Naivg8r i50 is particularly beneficial for novice L or P plate drivers where it is mandatory to record a log of driving hours, including supervision, adverse weather (in states where it is required to keep a record) and night time driving,” said a Laser spokesperson.
“Parents are also able to keep a watchful eye on teenagers driving behaviour and habits by way of an electronic trip log. The amount and type of driving can be tracked, for example, the i50 shows parents how often the learner was speeding – ideal when borrowing the family car.”
The Navig8r i50 GPS features a 5-inch LCD touchscreen with anti-glare, a Bluetooth receiver, and has an FM transmitter for hands-free operation. It also includes SpeedAlert which confirms current speed limits with visual and audible warnings.
The Navig8r iSeries i50 GPS is available now for $199.
