Already offering some of the fastest Wi-Fi routers available as part of its Nighthawk range, Netgear is now set to give wired devices a speed boost with the new Nighthawk Switch.
According to Netgear, the Nighthawk S8000 8-port switch delivers ultra-smooth gaming and media streaming performance to wired devices in an easily configurable package.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with other products in the Nighthawk range, the Nighthawk S8000 extends the speed and performance of capabilities of WiFi routers, and allows users to avoid competing with other devices for bandwidth on a wireless network.
“With the Nighthawk S8000 Gaming and Media Switch, NETGEAR is tackling the problem of overloaded wireless networks head-on,” said Richard Jonker, vice president of SMB and Switching Product Line Management for NETGEAR.
Jonker said that the demands of combining 4K video streaming, VR gaming and high-speed web surfing were beyond the abilities of typical home wireless networks, which struggle to provide connections that are reliable and lag-free.
“Beyond its sleek and stylish good looks, the Nighthawk S8000 Switch offers ultra-smooth, ultimate performance switching with a highly intuitive user interface that makes setup, advanced configuration, and optimisation all stress-free,” Jonker said.
Users are able to configure each individual port depending on its use, and can choose from a range of pre-configured settings for gaming, media streaming or general use.
Netgear’s Nighthawk S8000 Switch is available now for RRP $199.
