Panasonic has announced a new camera in its LUMIX Travel Zoom series capable of shooting 20-megapixel photos and 4K videos at up to 30x zoom.
The LUMIX DC-TZ90 has “an array of capabilities for the keen traveller” according to Panasonic.
Along with its 30x zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens for shooting from wide to high zoom, the TZ90 also has a 3-inch 180-degree tiltable rear monitor for selfie shooting and a 0.2-inch Electronic View Finder for framing in high-contrast situations
When the monitor is flipped up, ‘Self Shot Mode’ is launched which allows the shutter to be triggered with a wave or when two faces are detected next to each other, depending on the chosen setting. Panorama Selfie can also be used for fitting in larger groups.
4K video at up to 25 frames per second is supported, and 4K Photo helps to avoid missing the best shot by capturing 30 frames per second before and after the shutter is released.
Fast autofocus for photos using Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology reduces the focusing time of the TZ90 to around 0.1 seconds, with support for burst shooting of fast-moving subjects at up to 10 frames per second.
Other creative capabilities include Post Focus, allowing the focal point to be adjusted after a photo is taken using the touch screen, and 4K Live Cropping, which can produce smooth digital zooms and pans with Full HD output.
The Panasonic DC-TZ90 will be available from July for RRP $599.
