Powermove is set to bring a new Onkyo Pioneer-produced compact audio player to Australia, called the Pioneer XDP-30R.
As the name suggests, the big advantage it’ll offer over listening to your music via smartphone is support for hi-res content. In fact, the level of support and compatibility built into the XDP-30R is definitely the drawcard here.
Powermove say that “while compact in size is packed with features wanted from the music aficionado to the audiophile.”
Powered by twin ESS SABRE DAC and headphone amplifier chips, it supports up to 5.6MHz DSD native playback, 192kHz/32bit FLAC/WAV formats and can even upscale compressed audio/streaming audio.
It’s also packing on the ports-side of things with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2.5mm 4-pole balanced output jack, two microSD slots and support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming
Powermove claim that the symmetric layout of DAC/Amp chips within the Pioneer XDP-30R help reduce noise from the power supply.
The distributor says that the Pioneer XDP-30R won’t land on Australian shores until Q1 of 2017 but, when it does, it’ll retail for $799.
