Despite rumours that Samsung will team up with Olympus to produce the camera element for its smartphones, GalaxyClub.nl say the company is, in fact, working on its own sensor-shift stabilisation technology.
Sensor-shift features are used to limit shaking in photography and video. It also improves ISO sensitivity, which captures lighting better.
Previous smartphones which boasted optical image stabilisation work by moving the camera lens across a mounted axis to counteract any shakiness. As the name implies, sensor-shift technology moves the image sensor to stabilise.
Apple recently introduced sensor-shift technology with its iPhone 12 Pro Max, which makes it more likely that Samsung are moving fast to compete with their own tech.
It is expected that Samsung will introduce the technology with its forthcoming Galaxy S series.
