Many corporate types will already be glued to their BlackBerry smartphones for work emails and updates – but what other stuff can you use your BlackBerry for?
To answer the question, BlackBerry maker RIM has put together a repository of all the freeware, shareware and for-purchase applications that are designed for use with BlackBerry. The information is located online at website called “Built for BlackBerry.”
The company is touting that you could book a flight, check the headlines or even play a game of poker on your BlackBerry, and now there is a website which gives you easy access to the software that allows you to do all this “fun” stuff.
The software is searchable by category – News, Sports, Travel & Weather, Games & Entertainment, Lifestyle and Navigation & Mapping. Under the Travel & Weather category, for example, you can download an application that gives you up-to-the-minute weather updates or another which gives you a guide on the best places to eat, drink and play in 70+ cities around the world.
